The Municipal District of Westside is a newly incorporated municipality, formerly an unincorporated area of the Regional District of Central Okanagan. It is a rapidly growing community that is situated just outside of the City of Kelowna on the western shore of Okanagan Lake. The Westside is also home to another government body, the Westbank First Nation. IR #9 and IR #10. Both exist within the Westside area and form an important part of the community. The Westside area was built on a history of agriculture, has urban amenities, residential neighbourhoods, and is nestled amongst scenic mountain terrain and Okanagan Lake. Being a valley nestled in the mountains, the Westside experiences all four seasons. It is home to many recreational opportunities from fabulous water activities and golf, to spectacular winter activities such as skiing and snow shoeing. |
